The Importance of the Right Tires

Once you learn a couple of basic points about jump starting another vehicle, you will realize it’s something you can do without problem. The first thing is to recognize that each end of the cables has a positive clamp and a negative clamp. The positive is marked in red and the negative is in black. Also, be aware to use care not to touch other metal surfaces with the unconnected clamps once you’ve started connecting to a battery.

Start by connecting the positive cable to the battery’s terminal that’s marked with a plus sign. Go on and connect the negative to the terminal that has the minus sign. Move to the good battery and repeat the process. Leave the vehicle with the good battery running for a couple of minutes. Rev the engine and try to start the other car. If it doesn’t start after several attempts, it’s a good idea to stop and have your vehicle serviced.
